Continuous Collaboration for Living Evidence Generation
The 7th European OHDSI Symposium brought the European OHDSI community together in Rotterdam to share results, ideas, tools, and collaborations around OMOP CDM, open-source analytics, real-world evidence generation, and living evidence across Europe.
The main symposium took place on Monday, April 20, 2026 aboard the SS Rotterdam. The weekend program on April 18–19, 2026 included workshops and workgroup meetings at the Erasmus MC Education Centre.

Hands-on workshops and tutorials from the European OHDSI Symposium 2026 weekend program, covering OMOP CDM, ETL development, phenotyping, and data quality.
Introduction to OHDSI
Led by: Julia Kurps (The Hyve), Laura Verbeij & Fleur Vereijken (Erasmus MC).
Introductory tutorial covering the history and philosophy behind OHDSI, the community structure, OMOP CDM, OHDSI tools, requirements for using the tools, and learning pathways into OHDSI.
Target audience: Newcomers to OHDSI, data standards, open science, and clinical evidence generation.
ETL Development and Updating
Led by: Maxim Moinat (Erasmus MC), Anne van Winzum, Stefan Payralbe (The Hyve).
Workshop on OMOP ETL conventions, implementation examples, recent ETL and mapping tooling developments, and best practices for maintaining ETL pipelines after deployment.
Target audience: Data engineers, ETL developers, and data holders managing OMOP CDM conversions.
Phenotyping in OHDSI: Pipelines, Steps & Tools
Led by: Anna Ostropolets (J&J), Maria Khitrun, Azza Shoaibi, Dmitro Dymshyts, Anna Saura Lázaro.
Workshop on phenotyping pipelines in OHDSI, clinical concept development, literature review, concept sets, phenotype definition tools, evaluation, validation, and maintenance across vocabulary versions.
Target audience: Researchers designing studies and building phenotypes in OHDSI.
Data Quality Assessment Framework & Tools
Led by: Clair Blacketer, Anthony Sena (J&J).
Workshop on the Data Quality Dashboard, DQD updates, hands-on ETL validation, identifying and resolving ETL issues, and data quality in network studies.
Target audience: Anyone responsible for OMOP CDM data quality and ETL validation.
