OHDSI Italy – National Node
Local Collaboration. European Impact.
The Italian National Node of OHDSI Europe brings together academic institutions, hospitals, and research centers working on the use of real-world healthcare data. Since its establishment in June 2022, the Node has grown steadily and now represents a national reference point for the adoption of the OMOP Common Data Model and OHDSI tools.
The Node fosters collaboration among data partners and supports the development of multicentric studies based on standardized data. It also enables Italian institutions to participate in international OHDSI initiatives, promoting interoperability and reproducibility in observational research.
In the Italian context, particular focus is placed on regulatory and governance aspects, including data protection (e.g. DPIA), ethics approvals, and alignment with national stakeholders.
