OHDSI Greece
The Greek National Node envisages the wider adoption of OMOP-CDM as a gateway for leveraging observational research within the frame of the OHDSI-EHDEN ecosystem. In this context, the main objectives of the Greek National Node can be summarized as follows:
- Expand the network of partners in Greece
- Align with national policy initiatives
- Trigger related research initiatives
To this end, the Greek National Node will actively pursue the following activities:
- Active dissemination of EHDEN/OHDSI activities, aiming at (a) academia and research groups, (b) healthcare organizations, (c) policy makers, (d) enterprises in the eHealth domain and (e) organizations focusing on clinical research
- Technical and operational support of the potential data providers
- Regular engagement in OHDSI/EHDEN activities at the European level
- Support the setup of relevant research infrastructure and projects

Leading Organisation
The Institute of Applied Biosciences, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (INAB|CERTH) is the flagship institute for biomedical research in northern Greece. The eHeatlh Lab of INAB|CERTH has been founded in 2016 and is currently led by Dr. Pantelis Natsiavas. INAB|CERTH is already acting as a coordinator for various national and European research initiatives (ERIC-CLL, BBMRI, Hellenic Network of Precision Medicine on Cancer, MyPal project, National registry of home mechanical ventilation supported patients etc.), thus it has the necessary experience and capacity to support the role of the EHDEN National Node for Greece. The eHeatlh Lab of INAB|CERTH follows the activities of OHDSI network and the EHDEN project for some years now and builds upon its outcomes both in terms of research and technical developments.
Indicatively, the eHealth lab of INAB|CERTH has:
- organized the first open OHDSI-GR meeting on Wednesday 29th of March at 10.00-12.00 (Greek time). You can find the agenda of the meeting here (in Greek language) and the video of the meeting here (also in Greek)
- participated in the Pharmacovigilance Evidence Investigation OHDSI working group (formerly led by Richard Boyce and currently led by Erica Voss) and also contributed to one of its publications
- participated in the OHDSI Europe symposiums (on 2018 and 2022)
- within the context of the PVClinical research project, we build upon the OMOP-CDM and OHDSI software stack to facilitate the investigation of potential pharmacovigilance signals
- contributed to EHDEN side tasks (e.g. review proposals in the EHDEN SME certification calls)
