OHDSI Greece - National Node

Local Collaboration. European Impact.

The Greek National Node of OHDSI (OHDSI-GR) - led by the eHealth Lab, Institute of Applied Biosciences, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (INAB|CERTH) -envisions the wider adoption of OMOP-CDM for leveraging observational research within the frame of the OHDSI/EHDEN ecosystem. The OHDSI-GR network began its journey in 2021 and has since achieved the conversion of the database of Papageorgiou General Hospital of Thessaloniki (2023), incorporating data from more than 1.41 million patients. This marks an important first step in the development of the RWD analysis domain in Greece. In parallel, four other data sources have also been funded by EHDEN to convert their data in OMOP-CDM. Notably, the Papageorgiou General Hospital has also joined the EMA DARWIN (February 2025). Finally, it should be noted that the first privately funded study has also started (January 2026). As a whole, 8 studies have been run or are currently in progress.
